They are amazing because they 1) look real 2) are completely flat but look 3 Dimensional 3) drawn only with chalk. The author of these great drawings is a super creative person also known as Pavement Picasso whose real name is Julian Beever.

Designer In The Spotlight (DITS) is a weekly feature that I run every Sunday (or more) to help particular individuals in the design community get their name ‘out there’ and to educate the community as a whole. It is a series of questions that asks the designer about themselves and their job as a designer. If you would like to be featured in an upcoming DITS post fill out the form here.

After all it is hard enough predicting what’s going to happen tomorrow, no less months or years down the road. But today I’m going to go out on a lim

"We could hope that the current sartorial individualist attitude of men's dressing will continue. Yet what was almost exclusively sharp, angular, and urbane may now be beginning to melt ever so slightly around the edges. There may, in parallel, even be a subtle slide toward the conceptual."

With the severe economic downturn, you are less likely to go and buy things, but at the same time, you can now dream and scheme more freely, not concerned with the particulars for a moment... "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... I bought this humongous 150-inch plasma screen TV... 11 speakers and a subwoofer".
